Life is the balance between planning & building a hopeful future and non-attachment & letting go. Both have their place; the trick is knowing when each is appropriate. The answer lies in your ability to discern what truly serves and drives you versus what is holding you back or harming your progress. That is your life’s purpose…navigating the path that is meant for you. You do have a say…and the answers lie deep within you…in that sacred space no one else can reach…that quiet tenable part of your soul where God speaks to you, if only you will listen.
I no longer identify as Christian but during this Easter season, what I take from the crucifixion story of Jesus is rebirth. Every season provides an opportunity to shed old existences that are no longer serving us, stepping into the arduous and painful process of killing those parts that seek to destroy our spirit…and moving through to the other side of that loss into a more sacred way of being. Jesus’s crucifixion is a reminder that we all have a choice of staying stuck in our old patterns or rising above into a higher plane of understanding.
Judas’s betrayal could be any event in our lives that pushes us towards those tough decisions, moving us deeper into full self-actualization and closer to that which we might call God, embodying our true spirit. Judas represents situations that don’t even give us a choice in the matter, as our subconscious self creates an environment that forces action and change. The more we fight it, the more painful the process will be. To move through without resistance and, rather, acceptance…we usher in the metamorphosis required to raise us up into a higher, more enlightened form of being. The crucifixion is a metaphor for transformation and rebirth, for love and forgiveness, for ascendance into a more sacred and intentional realm.
Awareness and intention are the goal. Easter serves as a time out to evaluate where we are in our spiritual journey and how we want to proceed. As we move out of the dead of winter and into a season of activity and abundance, don’t lose sight of what matters, why you are here, and what you want to accomplish…and what you need to release from your life.
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday when Jesus rode into Jerusalem to accept his fate. We should accept our current status, wherever we are in life. Then we should use this time to begin shedding ourselves of old outdated beliefs and move our lives forward towards that which will shift our existence closer to our true intention, beginning the process of manifestation towards a stronger sense of purpose and, ultimately, toward love.
