Unicorn

I spotted you ages ago.

A mythical creature with your red hair and your magical smile.

Your virility and your spark, a flash of recognition to what I am looking for.

Over time I caught glimpses of you, moments of curiosity, palpitations, and desire.

Your illusiveness drew me further in, searching for an opportunity to know you better.

Your shimmer captivated me.

I thought I caught you once, ready to tame you and seize forever.

But unicorns aren’t meant to be tamed.

They bring magical powers that tempt and seduce.

But they aren’t meant to stay.

Their alicorn points them in the direction of infinity; nothing solid, especially time.

Trying to capture a unicorn is futile; once captured, they cease to be their namesake.

They are a rare, beautiful find.

Breathe in their magnetism and then set them free.

When they are set free, you are free.

Free to pursue your life with the contentment that your encounter mattered…and that it taught you to let go, to be fearless, to remember that in the end, we are singular…sewn together by connection but, ultimately, only meant to belong to ourselves.

Experience is the goal, not containment, capture, or expectation.

Your uniqueness was my privilege to experience.

I don’t put you on a pedestal; but rather, I acknowledge what you personally brought to my life…a rarity that only two individual souls brought together can experience uniquely.

Maybe you don’t see it on that level. But I do. I see the magic we made, if only briefly.

And I see the validity of our experience and what I take with me.

You are my unicorn.

You are the dream I chase.

You are the magic that propels me forward, destined to fulfill my dream and my purpose.

Thank you, and I love you.
